Mid-South Canines for Vets was founded by United States veterans and the owner of Paw Paw’s Pets to provide our mission of training, boarding, feeding, and health care of dogs so they are prepared to go into homes of veterans with medically diagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). We believe that we are “giving back” in training dogs to become service dogs to veterans who have served our country world-wide. All dogs are saved from euthanasia at local animal shelters and/or are adopted from rescue groups to lead and provide a higher quality of life by being an integral component to sustaining a happier, meaningful existence. The symbiotic relationship between veteran and service dog plays an integral part in “saving” both dog and veteran.

Take a look at research and findings:
“The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs estimates 11 to 20 percent of U.S. veterans who served in missions to Afghanistan and Iraq have suffered from PTSD in a given year”.
